This e-Service allows you to apply GIRO to pay for HDB rent, housing loan instalment or upgrading cost instalment.

Important Notes:

If you have an Internet banking account with OCBC or UOB, you may submit the application online directly to the bank by accessing OCBC's internet banking website or UOB's internet banking website

  1. This form may take you 10 minutes to fill in
  2. You will need the following information to complete the form:
    • Tenant's/Flat Owner's details (Name, Address and HDB Account Number)
    • GIRO Applicant's details (Bank Account and NRIC Numbers)
  3. Upon completion, please print and mail the duly signed GIRO Application Form (using the Business Reply Form provided) to HDB within the next 3 working days.
  4. An acknowledgement letter will be sent to you once your GIRO application form has been received by HDB. Meanwhile, please continue to settle your payments to HDB until you are informed of the commencement date for the deduction.

Section A: Benefits of using GIRO

You can settle your HDB monthly rent, housing loan instalment or upgrading cost instalment including the related Goods and Services Tax and late payment charge where applicable, through GIRO if you maintain a current/savings account with ANY of the GIRO participating banks and enjoy the following benefits:

  • time saved in travelling to and queuing at collection counters
  • no worry of being charged for late payment
  • no writing of cheque and envelope; no postage cost

Section B: General Information

  1. The GIRO Application form will instruct your bank to make automatic deductions from your savings or current account to settle your payments to HDB.
  2. HDB will inform you of the commencement date for the deduction once your GIRO application has been approved by your bank.
  3. The GIRO deduction date is on the 28th of the month. If the deduction is unsuccessful, we will make another attempt on the 6th of the following month. HDB will inform you of the commencement date for the deduction once your GIRO application has been approved by your bank. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in the bank account on the deduction date to cover the full GIRO payment.
  4. If you intend to pay your monthly instalments for different HDB payment types (housing loan and upgrading cost, or upgrading cost for more than 1 upgrading programme) through GIRO, please submit a SEPARATE GIRO application form.
  5. If CPF is used to pay for the monthly instalment and the full amount is not remitted by the CPF Board, HDB will inform you of the shortfall before deducting it from your GIRO bank account in the following month.
  6. HDB will notify you in advance of the amount to be deducted from your bank account if the intended deduction exceeds a month’s charge.
  7. Upon the closure of your HDB account (eg : resale of your HDB premises, transfer of your flat ownership or termination of the tenancy), HDB will automatically delete your GIRO account from its records. However, if you wish to terminate your GIRO arrangement for any other reasons, you need to inform HDB.
  8. If you wish to change the bank account used for your GIRO deduction from one bank to another, you are required to submit to HDB a fresh GIRO application for the new GIRO bank account. HDB will automatically terminate your existing GIRO arrangement upon the commencement of the new GIRO arrangement.
